Managing Medication Financial, Operational, and Clinical Workflow Impacts of ADCs in LTC Pharmacy

Summary:

The silver tsumani–the massive number of people turning 65–is upon us. There are over 15K LTC facilities in the U.S., all trying to prepare for this surge in aging population while controlling costs and managing scarce resources. LTC pharmacies are continually looking for ways to evolve and adapt to the needs of facilities and patients, and many are exploring automation as a way to streamline processes and manage medications, particularly around first dose and emergency doses.

In this session, we dive into the ways that ADCs can make financial, operational, and clinical sense for LTC pharmacies. Alex Black, Vice President of Operations at PharmScript, a closed-door pharmacy with 20 locations joins us to talk about the automation strategy that they have used since 2018 to help serve facilities in 25 states and the District of Columbia.

After this 45-minute session with time for Q & A, participants will:

  • Hear the outcomes from a peer-reviewed study conducted by PharmScript and BD
  • Understand the benefits of adding automation into the LTC pharmacy workflow
  • Learn more about how to evaluate whether adding ADCs is right for your organization
