Walberg took the business to the next level in 2019 when he consolidated the refills for those 11 retail stores into one closed-door location, Care-Fill LTC, founded by Walberg Family Pharmacies. Care-Fill LTC is a closed-door combo pharmacy serving over 2,000 patients in retail and long-term care communities. He knew he needed a way to reduce inventory costs, reduce DIR fees, and get ahead of staffing shortages, and this consolidation did just that.
The business grew rapidly, and he quickly realized there was a need for a larger, more sophisticated centralized filling system. Bretton turned to Parata for a customized solution that would allow Care-Fill LTC to grow and effectively serve the community
“Centralizing our filling operations was critical to achieving our next level of growth. We’re able to save costs, streamline workflows, and extend our reach to better serve the community.” – Bretton Walberg
The customized system consisting of four Max 2 Plus machines, Parata Connect, and a conveyor system put together by Parata’s design team will allow Care-Fill LTC to more than double the number of prescriptions they can fill per day – going from 2,000 to 5,000 prescriptions each day! They’re on track to becoming the region’s largest pharmaceutical facilitator all while increasing savings from reduced inventory costs, staffing costs and DIR fees.

And it doesn’t stop there, Care-Fill LTC has already prepared for their next phase of growth with an even larger centralized fulfillment system customized to their space. The Care-Fill packaging service grew from operating in 7,000 square foot former golf course shed to a 25,000 square foot roller skating rink! From one packager 16 years ago to a sophisticated centralized filling system today, Care-Fill LTC is proof of the exponential growth customers can achieve with Parata.
