Parata Systems Unveils New Vision Center on Company’s 11th Anniversary

Durham, N.C. — Sept. 14, 2012 — Parata Systems, a leader in pharmacy automation, today opened its newly remodeled Vision Center at its company headquarters in Durham, N.C. This updated facility, timed to coincide with the 11th anniversary of Parata’s founding, is just one more innovative way the company is connecting with its pharmacy partners.

Parata Systems was founded on Sept. 14, 2001, with the goal of creating automation systems that would transform dispensing accuracy and pharmacy efficiency. Since then, Parata’s technologies have revolutionized the industry, virtually eliminating the risk of medication error and freeing up pharmacists to spend more time consulting with customers and offering new products and services.

Parata Consulting’s team of Industrial Engineers (IEs) designed the Vision Center to serve as both a customer showcase for Parata’s automation and as a functioning model of optimized integration and workflow.

The interactive space functions like a real-world pharmacy, complete with management software to enable those working in the simulated environment to track the path of a prescription from the physician to the customer. This will enhance the IE team’s ability to analyze how Parata’s automation can be integrated into various pharmacy environments.

Today’s announcement marks the soft-opening for the Vision Center, which will eventually grow to feature all of Parata’s products and technologies.

The Vision Center includes two main areas, simulating both retail and closed-door pharmacies. The retail portion features a Parata Max®, which delivers the highest accuracy, speed and productivity for the lowest cost per prescription; a Parata Mini®, a semi-automated technology; and a PASS 208® for retail compliance. The long-term care, closed-door pharmacy model features a Parata PASS™, a tool that generates customized unit- and multi-dose strip packaging that improves safety and adherence for retail and long-term care patients.
